NYC FICTION CONTEST. Gotham Writers in New York City chose Ruth’s entry as their May winner in #storieseverywhere Twitter contest.
BOOK CLUB VISIT. In London, Ontario, Ruth met the members of the local Red Hat Society book club to discuss her novel, Living Underground. Read her insights about meeting book clubs in “Book Club Confidential” at Writescape’s “Top Drawer”. (Spring 2016)

OAC GRANT. Ruth received a $12,000 Ontario Arts Council “Work in Progress” grant to continue writing her Young Adult novel, originally drafted at the 2014 Muskoka Novel Marathon. (Oct 2015)
RADIO INTERVIEW. With Terry Johnston on CKDO 107.7FM, Ruth discussed being “locked into a castle” to write a new play overnight at Driftwood Theatre’s “Trafalgar 24” event. The play was then staged the next evening. (Mar 2015)
SELECTED PLAYWRIGHT. Ruth was selected as one of the six 2015 playwrights for Driftwood Theatre’s annual 24-hour juried play creation festival, “Trafalgar 24”, in Whitby, Ontario. This premier arts event “locks” six playwrights overnight into an 1859 castle, where they write six new plays, which are then produced, staged, and judged the following evening. (Mar 2015)
