SW ONTARIO BOOK TOUR, June 11-13, Ruth takes Living Underground on the road through southwestern Ontario. On June 11 she hopes to be at the London Public Library. June 12, she has a reading appearance in Detroit, Michigan, and in the evening that same day, she returns to London to read and sign books at Oxford Book Shop on Piccadilly at Richmond. LITERARY EVENTS. On April 25, Ruth was a guest at the Canadian Authors Association Leacock-Simcoe Branch. She spoke about winning writing contests and winning the biggest writing contest of all, a signed contract with a publisher.

WCYR POETRY COMPETITION. Ruth took first prize in the Writers’ Community of York Region (WCYR) ”Poetry & Roses” competition. Selected by award-winning poet Barry Dempster, the final results were announced February 10th. For more information, click here.

POEM ARCHIVED. Read Ruth’s poem “Mother’s Song” (originally published in the UK literary journal Rain Dog, issue No.7 in March 2003) and now archived on the UK’s Poetry Magazines/Poetry Library website. The “site contains Poetry Library’s free access non-profit-making online archive of English 20th and 21st century poetry magazines which is part of the library’s ongoing digitisation project funded by the Arts Council England.”

BOOK CLUB READING LIST. Living Underground has been added to an expanding list of titles on the Book Club Reading List, “from which book clubs can schedule the author to attend their meetings. Every quarter, Book Club Reading List disseminates a newsletter to book clubs around the United States informing them of authors that have joined their program.” Read the press release here.
